The Role Expatriate Opportunity A leading bank in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea is looking for a Head of Operations to report directly to the COO and take full ownership of how loans are booked, funded, and documented. You’ll be directly responsible for account maintenance and the accurate, timely updating of customer accounts, and will lead roughly half of the Operations team. Alongside this, you’ll support the COO in driving cost management, scalability, and broader operational efficiency. Just as importantly, you’ll need to build deep, hands-on knowledge of credit administration processes — and be ready to train others, building lasting capability across the team. Key Responsibilities Own and drive credit administration end-to-end, including loan booking and funding Manage loan documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance Oversee account maintenance and the ongoing updating of customer accounts Build deep, hands-on knowledge of credit administration and documentation processes, and train others to build capability across the team Support the COO in developing and implementing broader operational strategies and policies Manage and optimise operational processes to meet quality and turnaround standards Manage the operational budget, forecasting, and resource allocation Analyse performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and reduce risk Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies Manage relationships with relevant suppliers and vendors Foster a culture of continuous improvement, mentoring and motivating the team to drive productivity and engagement About You Proven experience as a Head of Operations, or in a senior credit administration/loan operations leadership role Strong, demonstrable hands-on experience in credit administration, loan booking, funding, and documentation — essential, not preferred Strong attention to detail and a process-driven mindset Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with strong financial planning and numerical ability A relevant business degree or equivalent leadership experience Why Apply A genuinely critical role supporting the COO, with real ownership of a core operational function and clear scope to build capability and drive efficiency.
